Bitossi Figura Istrice

The Figura Istrice is a ceramic porcupine designed by Aldo Londi for the Rimini Blu collection. Its compact, rounded form is animated by a dense surface of engraved motifs, applied by hand using stencils. These abstract and geometric patterns wrap the figure in a rhythmic composition, sealed beneath the vivid turquoise glaze. Quick brushstrokes of cobalt beneath the surface add depth and variation, creating a shimmering effect that recalls the play of light on the sea—an echo of the collection’s coastal inspiration.

Each Istrice is pressed in white refractory clay, then hand-decorated and glazed by Bitossi’s artisans in Montelupo, Italy.
