The shell is made by a unique compression method that combines 75% hemp fibers with a newly created, recyclable bico binder (or 69% hemp fibers, 6% eelgrass, and 25% binder in the Seaweed edition). The base comes in FSC™️-certified beech plywood or powder-coated steel in Cream or Black, offering both aesthetic versatility and durability. For enhanced comfort and stability, bar variants with a hardwood base have a powder-coated steel footrest ring. At the conclusion of its life cycle, the Mat Chair can be returned to Normann Copenhagen, where both the shell and base are fully recyclable, showcasing a commitment to circular design.
